Arsenal preparing to part with Eddie Nketiah who is identified as saleable asset

Arsenal are preparing to part with striker Eddie Nketiah next year, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners are aware they will have to sell players to do big deals of their own in 2024 and the 24-year-old has been identified as a saleable asset for Mikel Arteta's side.

It is believed Nketiah is likely to remain at the club until the end of the 2023-24 campaign – but a well-placed source has told Football Insider that a January exit can't be ruled out if Arsenal are presented with the right deal.

A potential move away would also hinge on the Gunners' ability to sign a top striker in the winter window – which is a priority for Arteta and his recruitment team.

Funds will also need to be raised to sign Aston Villa star and number one Arsenal target Douglas Luiz – with Football Insider revealing on 18 December that the Midlands giants are set to ask for around £100million for Luiz's signature.

Nketiah's status as a home-grown player means a fee from any potential sale will be considered pure profit under Financial Fair Play regulations.

The England international, who made his senior Three Lions debut against Australia in September, is currently playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal.

He has made 23 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, notching six goals and four assists.

Nketiah has played 154 times for Arsenal since making his first-team debut in September 2017, scoring 38 goals.
The forward is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until June 2027 after penning a fresh extension last year (2022).

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League ahead of their clash with second-place Liverpool on Saturday (23 December).
